MCC Montréal-Nord
Urban laboratory for interior and exterior design
Le Comité supported the Montreal North Neighborhood Roundtable and the Montreal North Borough throughout 2022 as part of an urban laboratory project involving various indoor/outdoor development initiatives. This innovative co-creation process was made possible thanks to the participation of young people, community organizations, and citizens. One of these projects was the interior design of the Cultural and Community Centre lobby, which was developed through a series of participatory workshops and carried out entirely by the Committee.

Mission
Design, project management, production, co-creation workshops
The layout includes a range of custom-made furniture designed to meet the needs identified during the co-creation workshops, namely: providing furniture for breaks, gatherings, and work; offering solutions to improve the acoustics of the space; and improving the existing signage. A two-level stage, an alcove module, wood paneling for the reception wall, and directional signage were installed to give the lobby of the Cultural and Community Center a welcoming, warm, and original feel. All of the furniture is designed to offer a variety of uses and allow the lobby to become a truly attractive reception area for citizens.
