La tablée du marché – Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu
Public place
The City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu has entrusted our cooperative with the mandate to design, produce, and build a temporary, custom-made structure on the Place du marché public in Vieux-St-Jean. During the summer of 2024, the public square will offer a friendly and welcoming environment for residents, tourists, cyclists, and workers in an iconic location. This mandate reflects our cooperative’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive spaces.
The market table offers an organic design that follows the lines of the street while inviting relaxation. Designed to meet the needs of users, the installation brings the community together in a colorful and welcoming setting, facing both the market and City Hall. It is a vision that promotes exchange and celebrates the dynamism of Old St-Jean.
Mission
Conception, design and production
The market table is distinguished by vertical structures in colors inspired by the visual identity of the City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, reminiscent of the market’s awnings. Elevated plantings provide shade, coolness, and movement, offering a unique sensory experience. These material choices reflect our commitment to environmentally friendly design in harmony with the site.
