Event design and production
On June 1, 2019, for one day, the very first edition of Jarry Varry dazzled residents of the Villeray neighborhood and beyond. The festivities took place on Jarry Street East, between Saint-Gérard Street and Chateaubriand Avenue. In line with the new signage on Promenade Jarry, Le Comité created a real carnival atmosphere, with a program of free activities for young and old alike: giant games, free concerts, participatory circus workshops, and more. The event was an opportunity to showcase local businesses and promote local shopping through kiosks set up on the sidewalks of this section of Jarry Street. In addition, given that the members of the promenade are committed to the environment, the Jarry Varry neighborhood party was designed to embrace the eco-friendly movement. A crowdfunding campaign was launched to enable, among other things, the production of reusable cups for the event.

Mission
Design, project management, program, partnership development and event logistics
In addition to designing the event (visual identity and construction of kiosk structures), Le Comité took charge of everything from programming to logistics. Jarry Varry is part of the 100in1dayMTL initiative, a global movement whose goal is to invite citizens of participating cities to collectively carry out a minimum of 100 positive, inspiring, or thought-provoking civic initiatives in order to help create a better world.
