Hub Villeray – Arrondissement VSP
Public space
The VSP borough entrusted the Committee with the design of Hub Villeray, a public square located on De Castelnau Street. Designed to last and adapt to all four seasons, the space transforms with the rhythm of the neighborhood thanks to its versatility. Whether it’s a lively summer afternoon or a cozy winter evening, the Hub Villeray offers a safe and accessible place where each season brings its own unique atmosphere.
Located between Saint-Hubert and Saint-André, the Hub Villeray stands out for its completely pedestrianized street and abundant above-ground vegetation. Sub-spaces with shade, meeting, and rest furniture create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Open to the neighborhood, the plaza strengthens the connection with Saint-Hubert Street and promotes harmonious coexistence between residents, merchants, and visitors.
Mission
Conception, design and production
The Hub Villeray is designed to be a lively place created by and for the community. The Committee worked with the VSP borough in consultations with merchants and residents to imagine a space for organizing small events, where families can gather and passersby can enjoy a welcoming environment to relax, eat, or work outdoors. Sustainable and inclusive, the site reflects all the vitality and diversity of the neighborhood.
